Alyssa Durst is a fiction writer who explores Christian themes for a general audience. Her work has been featured in Pithead Chapel and Blue Earth Review, among others.

 

Her novel in progress, The Apostasy, follows a small-town pastor whose life unravels when the thin veil between the spiritual and material realms begins to tear, allowing him to see that the struggles he's facing aren't against flesh and blood but are "against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms" (Ephesians 6:12).

Alyssa received her MFA from the University of New Orleans, and she works as a freelance book editor and full-time writer specializing in marketing and digital communications.

She lives in central Illinois with her four sons.
